LOWERY, James W. “Jack”, 85, died Friday, February 10, 2012.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Vaughn E. Lowery; daughter, Evaughn L. Balkcom and her husband Ronald W.; son, Neil K. Lowery and his wife Trisha J.; grandchildren, E. Allison Lynn and her husband Larry A., Jr. of Montgomery, AL, Benjamin K. Lowery and his wife Santessa T. of Montgomery, AL and Stephanie L. Southers and her husband Michael C. of Indianapolis, ID; great-grandchildren, Caroline Elizabeth Lynn, Connor James Lynn both of Montgomery, AL and Olivia Nicole Southers of Indianapolis, ID; sister, Sardenia Peacock of Eufaula, AL and brothers, Leon B. Lowery of Highland, MI, Fred H. Lowery of DeFuniak Springs, FL, Frank P. Lowery of Luverne, AL, Charles C. Lowery of Troy, AL, Mack E. Lowery of Troy, AL.
He is preceded in death by his brother, the late L. Paul Lowery.
Mr. Lowery served in WWII in the US Marine Corps.
Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 PM, Sunday, February 12th at Leak Memory Chapel with Rev. Glen Pugh and Rev. James P. Dannley officiating the service. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. The Towsend Detachment of the Marine Corps League will be serving as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Aldersgate United Methodist Church Bell Tower Fund.
