Active duty Marines are assigned to one and two year graduate level schools aboard Maxwell Air Force Base. Townsend Detachment hosts a ‘Welcome Aboard Picnic’ for the Marines and their families, to welcome them to the River Region.

River Region Veteran’s Day Parade – Townsend Detachment members serve on the Parade planning committee, and host an entry in the parade, we are accompanied by our mascot “L/Cpl Maggie” and family members.

Detachment members collect toys for the USMCR Toys for Tots drive.
