CASSADY, James Daniel, a resident of Montgomery, passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2008 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at Frazer Memorial United Methodist Church on Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Barry Carpenter officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 – 11:00 at the church.
He is survived by his wife, Missy McLure Cassady; a daughter, Christen Ruth (Spike) Staats; sons, James Davis Cassady II, Taylor McLure Otwell and Turner Edward Otwell; his parents,James Davis Cassady and Martha Helen “”Heddy”” Cross Cassady; a brother, Michael Wayne (Nancy) Cassady.
Danny was employed with Wachovia as a financial planner. He was very active in the Kiwanis Club, The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Montgomery Area Committee of 100, Auburn University Foundation Board of Trustees, President of Auburn University at Montgomery’s Alumni Association, an elder at Frazer United Methodist Church, a member of the Montgomery Chamber of Commerce, a Feta Lodge Mason, and a teacher of the Gold Tee Sunday School Class at Frazer United Methodist Church. Danny was a Certified Public Accountant and a stockbroker. He had received the Auburn University at Montgomery’s Alumnus Award and won the local Mercedez Benz Golf Tounament.
Pallbearers will be Jim Pope, Ken Love, Ken Reynolds, Gordon Arabian, Ben Starkie, Tommy Guy, Luke Cassady and Joe Garrison. The family requests that donations be made in Danny’s memory to the American Cancer Society or Hickory Grove Cemetery, 7649 Union Academy Ada Road, Letohatchee, AL 36047.
